A Quick Cut

It can be very satisfying to give the lawn a quick mow to tidy it up. Maybe you have a barbecue planned and want to give it a once over to smarten things up and keep guests feet out of the long grass.

Keeping the mower ready to go is important for a quick start. Check the oil level regularly, to make sure you don't run it dry.

If your mower gets infrequent use you may find that the petrol sits in the tank for a long time between uses, and maybe doesn't get topped up until the following season. Be aware that petrol doesn't last forever, and goes off after about 12 months. This degradation may cause starting issues, so if you are a light user don't top the tank up full but put a small amount a a time in.

Make sure that you store the tractor indoors, in a garage or large shed. Don't expose it to the elements permanently if you want to avoid reliability issues.

These considerations will help you with that quick cut, your garden tractor will be more likely to start first time!
